ส่งความช่วยเหลือให้กับผู้ประสบภัยจากพายุโมคาในเมียนมา

     เมื่อวันที่ 23 พฤษภาคม 2566 สภากาชาดไทยส่งอาหารและเครื่องบรรเทาทุกข์สำหรับสถานการณ์ฉุกเฉินมูลค่าหนึ่งล้านบาทให้กับกองทัพอากาศนำส่งไปยังประเทศเมียนมา เพื่อให้ความช่วยเหลือด้านมนุษยธรรมแก่ผู้ที่ได้รับผลกระทบจากพายุไซโคลนโมคา ในพื้นที่เขตตะวันตกของรัฐยะไข่  

     ทั้งนี้ ดร.อภิชาติ ชินวรรโณ ผู้ช่วยเลขาธิการฯ ฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์ เป็นผู้แทนสภากาชาดไทย ในพิธีส่งมอบความช่วยเหลือดังกล่าว ร่วมกับ ฯพณฯ นายกรัฐมนตรี ผู้แทนจากประเทศเมียนมา และผู้แทนจากหน่วยงานต่างๆ ที่ให้การสนับสนุน ณ ทำเนียบรัฐบาล เมื่อวันที่ 22 พฤษภาคม 2566

     สำนักข่าวหลายแห่งได้รายงานว่า ผู้เสียชีวิตและผู้บาดเจ็บมีจำนวนเพิ่มมากขึ้นภายในระยะเวลาเพียงไม่กี่วันภายหลังจากพายุโมคาเข้าพัดถล่มเมียนมาเมื่อวันที่ 14 พฤษภาคม 2566 และยังได้สร้างความเสียหายให้กับเมือง ชุมชน และค่ายผู้พลัดถิ่นในรัฐยะไข่ มีประชาชนมากกว่าหนึ่งแสนคนต้องอพยพออกจากพื้นที่ประสบภัย

Humanitarian Aid to Cyclone Mocha Victims in Myanmar

     Emergency food supplies and relief items valued one million Baht from Thai Red Cross Society were shipped by Royal Thai Air Force from Thailand to Myanmar on 23 May 2023. This shipment was a part of humanitarian assistance to people affected by Cyclone Mocha in western Rakhine state. 

     Dr. Apichart Chinwanno, Assistant Secretary General for External Relations, represented Thai Red Cross Society in the handover event with Thailand Prime Minister, representatives from Myanmar Government and supportive organizations at Government House of Thailand on 22 May 2023. 

According to several news agencies, numbers of casualties and injuries have risen sharply during the few days after the cyclone Mocha hit Myanmar on 14 May 2023. The cyclone has devastated many towns, communities, and internally displaced people’s camps in Rakhine state. More than ten thousand people were evacuated from the cyclone affected areas.
