แอสคอทท์ ประเทศไทยจัดกิจกรรมวิ่งการกุศล Ascott Charity Run 2016 ครั้งแรกเพื่อระดมทุนช่วยเหลือเยาวชนในพื้นที่ห่างไกล
เมื่อวันที่ 2 ตุลาคม 2559 ที่ผ่านมา ดิ แอสคอทท์ ลิมิเต็ด (แอสคอทท์) เจ้าของและบริษัทผู้นำตลาดด้านการบริหารธุรกิจเซอร์วิสเรสซิเด้นท์รายใหญ่ที่สุดในโลกได้จัดกิจกรรม ‘Ascott Charity Run 2016’ ขึ้นที่สวนลุมพินี ระดมทุนเพื่อนำไปช่วยเหลือเด็กๆกว่า 500 คน ณ โรงเรียนดอยเวียงผาพิทยา ซึ่งเป็นโรงเรียนในสังกัดภาครัฐที่ตั้งอยู่ในจังหวัดเชียงราย ประเทศไทย
กิจกรรมวิ่งการกุศล Ascott Charity Run 2016 เป็นการวิ่งระยะทาง 5 กิโลเมตร ในบรรยากาศสวนอันร่มรื่น ซึ่งนอกจากลูกค้า ผู้บริหาร และพนักงานของแอสคอทท์พร็อพเพอร์ตี้ในประเทศไทยแล้ว กิจกรรมดังกล่าวยังได้รับความสนใจจากบุคคลทั่วไปเป็นอย่างมาก โดยเสื้อวิ่งกว่า 600 ตัวที่ทางแอสคอทท์ได้จัดจำหน่ายในพร็อพเพอร์ตี้ทุกแห่งในประเทศไทยได้ถูกจับจองหมดอย่างรวดเร็วเพียงไม่กี่สัปดาห์หลังเปิดจำหน่าย ภายในงานยังมีบริษัทผู้ผลิตและจำหน่ายเครื่องอุปโภคบริโภคกว่าสิบบริษัท รวมถึงโรงพยาบาลบีเอ็นเอช มาร่วมออกบู๊ทสร้างสีสันให้แก่เหล่านักวิ่งอีกด้วย
โรงเรียนดอยเวียงผาพิทยาเป็นโรงเรียนในสังกัดภาครัฐฯ ตั้งอยู่ในเขตพื้นที่สามเหลี่ยมทองคำบริเวณทางภาคเหนือของประเทศไทย ห่างจากกรุงเทพฯ ประมาณ 10 ชั่วโมง โรงเรียนจัดการเรียนการสอนสำหรับนักเรียนตั้งแต่ระดับชั้นอนุบาลจนถึงมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้นจำนวนทั้งสิ้นกว่า 500 คน โดยในจำนวนนี้มีเด็กนักเรียนประมาณ 50 คนอยู่ประจำที่โรงเรียนเนื่องจากบ้านของพวกเขาอยู่ในพื้นที่ห่างไกลและทุรกันดาร
ทั้งนี้แอสคอทท์ ประเทศไทย ผ่านทางการประสานงานของมูลนิธิ ไอแคร์ ประเทศไทยและความสนับสนุนจากมูลนิธิ แคปปิต้าแลนด์โฮป (CHF) ได้ช่วยเหลือสนับสนุนโรงเรียนดอยเวียงผาพิทยาอย่างต่อเนื่องมาโดยตลอดนับตั้งแต่ปี 2557 ทั้งในรูปแบบของเงินบริจาค สิ่งของเครื่องใช้ และการนำพนักงานจิตอาสาไปร่วมปรับปรุงสภาพแวดล้อมของโรงเรียนและจัดกิจกรรมสันทนาการให้แก่เด็กๆ รวมถึงการไปเยี่ยมบ้านและครอบครัวของพวกเขาบางส่วนอีกด้วย
ในปีที่ผ่านมา ทางแอสคอทท์และมูลนิธิ แคปปิต้าแลนด์โฮป (CHF) ได้นำพนักงานจิตอาสาเข้ากว่า 50 ท่าน ประกอบไปด้วยผู้บริหารระดับสูง และพนักงาน จากบริษัท แคปปิต้าแลนด์ และแอสคอทท์ทั้งในและต่างประเทศ อาทิ จีน, มาเลเซีย, ฟิลิปปินส์, สิงคโปร์และเวียดนาม จิตอาสาทุกท่านได้ร่วมมือกันพัฒนาและปรับปรุงสภาพแวดล้อม ตลอดจนสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกต่างๆของโรงเรียน เพื่อเสริมสร้างบรรยากาศที่เหมาะสมและเอื้อประโยชน์ต่อการเรียนรู้ของนักเรียนให้มีประสิทธิภาพมากยิ่งขึ้น
